Tessara was started by a local resident who believes most people want to help their community — but the gap between good intentions and actually showing up is too wide. Finding the right opportunity shouldn't require digging through Facebook posts or making a dozen phone calls.
Tessara exists to close that gap. It's a simple, free platform where local nonprofits post clearly described volunteer opportunities and local residents find ones that fit their life. Every listing tells you exactly what's needed, where, and for how long — so when you show up, you're ready to help.
This is built specifically for the Michiana area — Granger, South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart, and the surrounding communities. It's not trying to be a national platform. It's focused on making real connections between neighbors who want to help and organizations that need them.
